Summer Wrap Up! {the longest post ever!}

So I kind of stopped posting for a bit there and boy have you guys missed out on some fun! A lot has happened so here ya have it!
Cade turned 26! Wooh! As you can see he's pretty stoked to be eating chocolate cake in bed!

I made him some yummy ribs, twice baked potatoes and squash! A few of his favs...and let me just tell you, ribs are hard to make!

I had to take pictures and he just wanted to eat! He's was a good sport.

For his bday adventurings, we took a trip to Dallas!

We went to the aquarium there and it was actually way cool!



This tunnel was pretty cool, but also really loud and annoying. For some reason everyone had to yell what they wanted to say and it just echoed into my brain. But we still stayed in there forever, the fish were so cool!

There was saw fish! I've never seen one before so that was cool. It swam too fast to get a good picture though. The turtle on the other hand...just the right speed AND it was cute.

Cade had to really be aggressive for this shot. He had to beat 500 other kids to get this close to the glass :)


THE NIXITRON SUMMER OF WOES


This summer was a rough one for nixy and our wallet. She had mange, we thought it went away, but then kept coming back every time a new issue arose. We were worried the mange would never go away which is bad because if they still have it after their first year it means it won't ever go away! She then broke her leg. She also became allergic to heat?...and maybe other things, she randomly swells in patches, it's weird. She was sick for a full week, not eating and throwing up several times a day, I was worried she was just going to wither away. Then right before we came home from Abilene, she ate her flea collar, which can be pretty deadly. When I came home she walked towards me like she was drunk and couldn't stand straight...so I rushed her to the vet and they had to keep her over night to detoxify her...it was lucky that she was taken in because earlier that morning she had rolled in the grass and gotten bit by a bug and had a huge tumor-like swelling ball on her neck. I didn't think much of it bc everytime a mosquito bit her she would get a little tiny tumor bump, but it turned out she had been bitten by a black widow twice. So luckily the detoxification took care of that too! Yes a rough summer indeed! Here's a portion of all her meds...

Every time we went to the vet we got one of these leashes, she ended up with quite the collection...

Since we've been home she has been just fine! Thank goodness! She had put on some needed weight and her mange is gone! Yay! Her leg seems to be all healed as well! It must have been Texas, who knows.

THE ROAD TRIP HOME



We decided to make it a little bit fun on the trip home so we went through Roswell, New Mexico where all the aliens live. It was pretty fun to see a whole town (well a whole portion of it) all about aliens!





I've always thought it'd be fun to stop there, another thing I can check of my bucket list!

We made it home safe and sound! We were able to make the home trip more fun than the trip to Abilene because we weren't in as big of a hurry. I love road trips and I'm hoping for a longer one sometime soon! :)

We are now settled back in Logan. We moved into a cute little duplex on center street (no, it's not a cute house...just a plain old duplex). I'm back at school, though only taking one class, yay! Cade is working back at Logan River Academy and also a little APX-ing. We pretty much do nothing, it's excellent! I've also been cooking a little again, I'll have to post a few recipes soon!

Ok, I think this is enough catch up posting for now! On another note, I am so sad the summer is coming to an end :(
