Happy 4th+Love Weekend=the Best

This post is a little late but just like the rest of you all our July fourth weekend was awesome. I'm realizing that the holiday I have loved for so long is now going to be even more amazing for the rest of my life! We get fireworks every year now for our anniversary! I didn't even realize we had planned our wedding date so wonderfully!

So yes, we celebrated our first anniversary this summer. I didn't get to spend as much time with my love as I would have liked because of his work schedule, but he still found time to make the day special. We went to breakfast at good ole Denny's...{also, feel free to take note of cades "proper" drinking fingers}

Then during the day he had a bouquet of flowers sent to me, a fabulous surprise! He even timed the delivery perfectly and had them sent to the APX office where he figured I'd be working...very sneaky.

Here they are a week later...still beautiful.

That night I made him a special dinner. Some hot and spicy chicken enchiladas and rice. I told him I made this hot and spicy meal to represent how hot and spicy our love was after a year...yes I'm a dork, I know this.

Some yummy mexican sodas, we love them.

For dessert we had blackberry cobbler {to symbolize how sweet our love is...yes again, cheesy and dorky. :)} We also had some other dessert not pictured here ;)

Then of course, the fireworks!

Abilene doesn't really have official fireworks and you can't even do them within city limits! So our office bought a couple hundred bucks worth of fireworks and headed outside city limits.

This business that sells fireworks has a big field that he lets people do their fireworks in. It was a different experience but pretty fun.


And there was always the excitement and uncertainty of possibly getting shot with a rogue firework. Many cars were hit. The field was right by the highway. Excitement! These two shots were when I was taking pictures and people were shooting fireworks at me...awesome.


Nixy was TERRIFIED of the fireworks. She cowered in the car most of the time. I made her tough it out for a bit though.

This weekend was definitely a good one. Can't wait for next year! Yay for love, friends and fireworks!
