Zoo-tastic & Funny Talk

Photobucket
Every now and again (weekly) I feel the urge for an adventure. Quite recently, I had been complaining to Cade that I needed an adventure, something different (a vacation). So one day, we got up early and Cade took me to Hogle Zoo! It was a fabulous treat. I love seeing all the different animals, especially elephants! They are so freakin cute! I don't know if you noticed in one of the pictures, there seem to be 2 shapes and perhaps some sort of animal behind those 2 shapes. Let me just go ahead and explain that picture for you. As we were walking along checking out all the different animals, we came upon a larger than normal crowd, I heard some teenage kids giggling to each other and one mom say, "oh look at the big turtle on the rock! Oh...wait...um, okay...lets go look at the alligator!" You see folks, it is spring, mating season if you will and that turtle on the rock was no turtle, it was 2 turtles. Yes, I think you get it now. The thing that I found most entertaining was the fact that there was a very curious and interested kangaroo standing 2 feet behind the turtles just staring, with it's head turned to the side just a bit, like he was trying to figure out what was going on. It was quite a comical scene. Mating season and all it was a very fun, spur of the moment trip! I love those kind of trips, they are always most fun!

I just want to add a little funny story that happened a few nights ago. First you must know that I usually go to bed later than Cade. I am definitely a night owl and he is most definitely not. Anyways, after I had finished whatever had kept me up later, I climbed into bed next to Cade and he spoke. At first I couldn't hear what he was saying, so I asked what he was talking about. He proceeded to explain to me how I needed to properly hammer in something to a telephone pole, then said something about climbing...(i love when cade talks in his sleep and I do my best to keep him talking for as long as possible) he then started talking about something that was scurrying across the line and jumping through the trees. I asked again what he meant. At this point it seemed to me like he realized he was talking nonsense, so in an exasperated sort of tone, he replied, "oh, you know...just talkin about squirrels". That was the end of the "conversation". Because of his last comment and tone, I for sure thought he'd remember this exchange, but no. He had no memory of it in the morning! Way funny.

The next night. Same situation. I came to bed a bit after Cade had gone to sleep. As soon as I climbed into bed Cade inhaled sharply and jumped over to me grabbing me tightly and pulled me over to his side of the bed. This was quite a shocking welcome to bed and I was pretty sure he was still sleeping. So I asked, "what is it? Are you ok?" He just started saying, "woah, woah, woah, woah..." repeatedly. I was kind of laughing at this point and he apparently did not think this situation we were in was funny at all. He seemed to think I had almost fallen off of a cliff. He asked me if I was ok, which I was, but he kept a tight hold on me. I was just letting this funny situation play itself out, so I let him keep ahold of me, 'saving me from falling'. Finally after several minutes, in a very concerned voice he asked if I was ok and if he could let go of me. I told him that I was fine and that he could indeed let me go. He did so slowly and rolled over and went back to sleeping... The same thing again, he didn't remember any of this in the morning.

I'm so glad Cade can provide me entertainment :) Him talking in his sleep is probably part of the reason I go to bed later than him, in hopes I'll catch him at it...I can't wait for the next time I catch him between dreaming and awake! It's just too much fun.
